1985 Chateauneuf du Pape from Beaucastel, definitely one of the most beautiful Rhone wine, King of Rhone, one of the labels from the regions amongst with 13 grapes varieties. A lovely fruit driven nose with raspberry and cherry, beautiful perfume, and spice. More raspberry and cherry fruit, black tea, and spice. It is still fruit driven, giving, medium to full bodied but carrying its heft gracefully in a supple, sappy, and round mode showing vintage character. Southern Rhone definitely keeping well.
